The Ombuds officer deals with complaints from students, both Dutch and international.
If you are experiencing undesirable behaviour, such as sexual harassment, aggression, violence or discrimination, you can turn to the confidential counsellor.
If you have an objection against a decision made by a University body, and there is no possibility of an appeal to the Examination Appeals Board, you can lodge an internal appeal with the Executive Board.
If you are unable to reach an agreement on a decision affecting your interests, you can lodge a complaint or appeal within the term set.
To follow an educational programme and make use of the facilities at Leiden University, you first have to be enrolled as a student. Enrolling at the University and paying your tuition fees also gives you other rights. Your rights and obligations are defined in the University regulations.
