Leiden University is offering 6 scholarships for 2nd/3rd year bachelor students and master students who want to participate in the annual LERU BRIGHT Conference 2013. LUC offers its congratulations to our very own Sass Sasot, who was awarded the ECHO Award for Excellence at a ceremony in the Peace Palace yesterday evening. In a packed auditorium, Sass gave a sensitive, moving, and powerful speech about the importance of appreciating where you come from as a guide for reaching into the future.

This remarkable relationship is at the heart of the book Zoet&Zout that Maartje van den Heuvel, curator of photography at the Leiden University Library, wrote together with journalist Tracy Metz. This book won them the Golden Tulip award for best non-fiction book of 2012.
