Application fees for bachelor’s programmes
To apply for a degree programme at Leiden University, you will need to pay a non-refundable application fee of €100. This fee entitles you to apply for up to three programmes or specialisations within the same academic year. Once the university has received your application fee, we can begin processing your application.

You can pay your application fee in two ways.
- By online credit card payment via Paylogic.
- By bank transfer:

Please state your name, your online application student ID number and the words 'application fee' in the description field. You will need to cover the costs of any bank charges incurred.
You do not need to pay the application fee if you:
have a Dutch pre-university diploma (VWO) or a (propedeutical) diploma (HBO or WO) from a Dutch institute of higher education
have a pre-university diploma (VWO) or a (propedeutical) diploma (HBO or WO) from an institute of higher education in Aruba, Curaçao or St Maarten
have a European Baccalaureate diploma from a Dutch department (NE Taal 1)
were previously registered as a Leiden University SAP/Exchange student or for a degree programme (BA and MA), including a pre-master
are applying for the BSc in Molecular Science and Technology
have a refugee status in the Netherlands (residence permit for asylum).
To summarise, you do have to pay the application fee if you:
have a non-Dutch previous education
have an International or European Baccalaureate diploma
have a pre-university diplomas (VWO) from Suriname
want to be admitted by way of the Colloquium doctum procedure
If you have previously been admitted to a degree programme at Leiden university, but decided to defer your studies until a later date, you need not re-apply or pay another application fee. Instead you can simply request an updated ‘decision on admission’ from your International Programmes Officer at the Admissions Office. This ruling does
apply if you wish to change your choice of study programme or speciality. In this case a new application and application fee are required.
International Bachelor of Psyhcology (IBP, In English): submitting a new application is required. Payment of application fee can be waived if you were previously selected to this programme.
If your previous application was not successful and you would like to re-apply you are required to pay another application fee.
