Important deadline after admission
If you need a student visa or residence permit, or accommodation via Leiden University Housing Office,  the deadline for submitting all documents and fees for these services is 1 June.

Late applications

We recommend that you apply as early as possible to maximize your chances of being admitted.
Late applications may be considered at the discretion of the faculty. However, please note that if you apply late you may also miss other deadlines, such as those for student housing and immigration formalities. In such cases, the faculty or Admissions Office may decide to defer your application until the next start date.

Why you shouldn’t wait until the last minute?
If you send us your documents shortly before the last deadline, and it turns out that they are incomplete or do not meet our requirements, your application will not be processed. It also takes time to prepare for any possible additional exams you may need to take, so the sooner you know, the better!
